Mayor Nicholson led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

8:00PM Annual Meeting (continuation from April 2014) 

 

Appointments

 

 Mayor Nicholson made the following appointments, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees, for a term of one year, said term to expire April 30, 2015.

On motion of Deputy Mayor Comer, seconded by Trustee Haagenson, it was unanimously RESOLVED that the aforesaid appointments made by the Mayor be hereby approved.

Mayor Nicholson appointed Elisabeth Roberts, subject  to the approval of the Board of Trustees, Deputy Village Clerk for  the term June 1, 2014 through April 30, 2015.

On motion of  Deputy Mayor Charles Comer, seconded by Trustee Haagenson it was unanimously RESOLVED that the aforesaid appointment by the Mayor be hereby approved.   

8:20PM  Regular Meeting 

New Business

1.      Village Hall Smoke Detectors

On motion of Deputy Mayor Comer, seconded by Trustee Peckelis, it was unanimously RESOLVED to install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the Village Hall for an amount not to exceed $750.00.

      2.   Treasurer

A.     Abstract of Vouchers

On motion of Deputy Mayor Comer, seconded by Trustee Peckelis, it was unanimously RESOLVED that the Audited Vouchers dated May 1, 2014 for the General Fund totaling $24,122.69 be and hereby are approved as prepared by Treasurer Tuck.

B.     Collection of Delinquent Taxes

On motion of Deputy Mayor Comer, seconded by Trustee Haagenson, it was unanimously RESOLVED that Village Attorney Chris Prior would be authorized to file a lien with Nassau County on those village properties of owners who were delinquent in paying village taxes.

        3.   Trustee Haagenson

Trustee Haagenson stated that Deputy Mayor Charles Comer and BZA Member William Haagenson had generously donated time and effort in the past week to many improvements to the Village Hall, and she thanked them for a job well done.

 

4.      Burack, 7 Overlook Drive

Kenneth Burack addressed the Board regarding a village tree which had caused damage to his property in November of 2012

On motion of Deputy Mayor Comer, seconded by Trustee Peckelis, it was unanimously RESOLVED to refund half of the cost of repairs to 7 Overlook Drive caused by the falling tree, in an amount of $1,475.00.

Executive Session 9.30 PM

On motion of Deputy Mayor Comer, seconded by Trustee Haagenson, the Board voted unanimously to enter into Executive Session.

At  9:45 PM, the Mayor stated that Executive Session had concluded.

No action was taken in executive session.

 

There being no further business before the Board, on motion of Mayor Nicholson, seconded by Deputy Mayor Comer, it was unanimously RESOLVED that the meeting be and hereby is closed at 9:50 PM.
